Sigtronics

Headset users are a fussy lot; that's why they're so set on Sigtronics products. Sigtronics Corp. is a leading manufacturer of quality headsets and intercoms for General Aviation, fire and airborne law enforcement markets worldwide.

It makes customized units for aviation and non-aviation uses. In fact, Sigtronics headsets have been part of Academy Award-winning efforts for sound in the movies and the SPA-400 was the intercom of choice in the round-the-world "Voyager."

To ensure quality, all Sigtronics products are designed, engineered and manufactured at the company's headquarters in San Dimas, Calif. and backed by the Sigtronics Sound Care Program. This customer support program includes a five-year warranty on most products, plus emergency replacement and flat-rate repair service for intercoms.

An intercom pioneer, Sigtronics produced the first voice-activated system in 1974, allowing hands-free communication between passengers in high-noise environments. It also makes one of the lightest (just over 12-ounces) noise-attenuating headsets on the market; and according to a spokesman, they have a virtually non-existent return rate.

Ear seals, earcup style and cushion design keep unwanted sound to a minimum and create a 24-db noise reduction rating. Covered in polyurethane, ear seals are resistant to perspiration and ultraviolet deterioration.

Receiver elements are tailored to the conversation bandwidth and are not affected by changes in temperature or humidity. They are guaranteed to be RFI and EMI immune, enabling the pilot to have interference-free transmissions even in fabric or composite aircraft or when used with handheld radios.

Adjustable mic booms provide a custom fit and are positioned at the bottom of the earcup to stay out of the pilot's peripheral vision. Replaceable, noise-cancelling electret microphones transmit clear audio and reverse for wear on either side of the head.

Strong steel headband assemblies (available in three standard sizes) are used for maximum durability and lightweight comfort. Stop-break high-flex cords can withstand up to 95 pounds of strain.
